From the Research Strategy Group
We were delighted to attend this excellent conference. There was a packed roster of engaging speakers armed with fascinating case studies. The most noteworthy for us echoed the mission we have been on—and continue to be on—with our clients:
- Using emotion and journey-based learning to identify the “why’s” behind consumer behaviour;
- Finding ways to be more agile in what we do, and how we do it but not at the expense of data quality;
- Employing the latest technologies across a variety of methodologies to improve the quality and speed of building consumer insights;
Oh – and connecting with attendees – big shout out to the Klik app!

The Quirk’s Event holds a unique place in the annual conference circuit. Founded on the insight that most end-client researchers do not have the budget to attend. The organizers have reduced costs by eliminating keynote speakers (plus the expensive catering) to make the event more accessible. The result… great value for money and ROI!
I cannot help but notice the parallels between The Quirk’s Event and the Market Research industry – where there is an increasing need / pressure for more economical solutions, which offer our clients better value and ROI. This theme of flexibility (on costs, timing and ease) was a recurring theme across the talks that I attended this year at The Quirk’s Event.

Last week we were fortunate enough to spend some time exhibiting at the QUIRK’S conference held for the first time in London! For those who may not be aware, QUIRK’S is one of the largest media providers in the market research industry, and has been holding events in American cities for the past few years.
We had a great time at QUIRK’S London, networking and seeing what our peers have been working on recently. If you did not have the opportunity to attend, fear not: we will be covering our experience from the event – and maybe we will see you at one of the next QUIRK’S events in Brooklyn and Chicago!
Below, you will find a Q&A done with VP of Marketing & Client Services, Dominique Balas, and head of the UK Sales Team, John Rousay, who were both in attendance at the event as exhibitors.
