Job Description

Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close.  Works within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Responsible for the sales of professional online, CATI and on-site data collection services tailored to the market research industry.
  • Develops annual business plan, with the Sales Leadership team, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year and will focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data collection services and products portfolio.
  • Sells consultatively, and makes recommendations, to prospects and clients of the various methodologies and solutions the company offers.
  • Maximizes all opportunities in the process of successfully closing a sale resulting in the increase of market share.
  • Assists in development and implementation of marketing plans, as needed.
  • Able to gather and submit detailed business information for pricing, and presentation of solutions to identified prospects’ business problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales/prospecting activities (including sales calls, presentations and follow-up activities)

Relationships & Roles

  • Maintain contact with all of your clients to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments, and all team members
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet the company’s core values.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5 or more years experience in sales, in the data collection / MR industry
  • Proven track record generating new business and renewing/increasing existing business
  • Ability to match and propose research solutions and products to potential clients with custom needs
  • Self-motivated, high energy, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about sales and client service.
  • Job is remote or able to be in-office, depending upon location of ideal candidate
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), as well as listening and presentation skills
  • Periodic North American travel would be required

Vice President – Position Summary:

An opportunity now exists to join NRG Research Group as we establish a new office in Toronto, Ontario.  We are searching for a strong, high energy executive to develop and manage new business opportunities, including market research, public affairs research and customer satisfaction.

The Vice President will be a member of NRG’s management team.  They will join us with a proven track record of strategic business development, sales and marketing management and extensive experience in the Market Research industry.   The Vice President will be responsible for the establishment of a new base of business in Ontario, overseeing client service, project management and internal collaboration.

Responsibilities include: 

Leadership

  • Belong to the NRG Management Committee, participating in discussions and decisions. They are critical to building and activating our corporate strategic plan
  • Key in the relationship between NRG and clients
  • Play a critical role in developing, promoting and maintaining a positive corporate culture within NRG, one that aims for quality and ensures ethical behavior at all times

Business Development

  • Lead business development opportunities including RFPs, strategic prospects, customers and third party relationships
  • Develop strategy and objectives for building awareness in the Toronto market
  • Develop a pipeline of opportunities
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to build, implement and drive immediate sales and establish long-term relationships with strategic accounts
  • Create account action plans as well as set and meet revenue goals

Project management

  • Manage multiple market research projects at once, within timelines and budgets, including working closely with colleagues to oversee all operational components of projects
  • Work with clients to develop and design appropriate solutions based on the research approaches and products that are best suited to meet their needs
  • Manage issues as they arise
  • Constantly strive for the best possible project design, proposal writing and quote preparation

Communication

  • Have excellent communication skills ensuring that the NRG Team, as well as clients, are fully informed

Reporting and presentations

  • Preparing and presenting reports of research findings, including charting/tabling, descriptive commentary, strategic implications and recommendations

Ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years proven track record in business development
  • 10+ years of market quantitative research experience.  Skills and experience in qualitative research, evaluation, user experience, and/or advanced analytics would be a strong asset
  • Extensive knowledge and relationships with the key players in the market research industry
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to build and lead a high preforming team
  • Planning: ability to think ahead and plan over 1-2 year time span
  • Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Expert in market research,  able to demonstrate advanced skills with research methodologies and analytics
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills
  • Collaboration skills to build relationships and strong customer facing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, driven, and capable of working within tight deadlines
  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office: Power Point and Excel and Google Suite: Slides and Sheets
